I am currently a grad student at Florida State University, pursuing a masters degree in student affairs. My current assistantship is in the Center for Global Engagement as the Global Pathways Certificate Advisor. The certificate is an opportunity for students to choose a theme based on their interests and goals, take related academic courses and a language, and participate in international and/or intercultural experiences and events. I love talking to students about their travel and cultural experiences, and this is the perfect avenue to encourage and assist them on how to articulate and express these experiences!

I am also participating in a year-long internship as one of the advisors for Florida State’s Dance Marathon. During my undergrad at DePaul University, I was honored to be a part of the executive board for the first ever student-run dance marathon, DemonTHON, and this has quickly become one of my biggest passions! I’m so lucky to be able to work with such a hard working group of students at FSU, and I can’t wait to spend this year with them!

In my “free” time (even though it’s scarce as a grad student), I am training to run the Chicago Marathon while raising money for the Make A Wish Foundation. I also love to travel as much as I can, and I recently went to London, England as part of a practicum trip with my cohort. We explored higher education in the U.K. and compared institutions to colleges and universities in the U.S. It was an amazing trip, and we learned so much!

This summer, I am living in San Francisco, working for the University of San Francisco’s Office for Student Leadership and Engagement as a graduate NODA Intern. Over the span of three months, I will plan and develop a training curriculum for forty undergraduate orientation leaders, create and print a publication that includes a master schedule and welcome guide for students and parents, develop a Guidebook app for use during the program, and much more! I’ll be blogging about all of my adventures while I’m here, so I invite you to follow along!
